Master Cylinder by TheGreatMC Master Cylinder by TheGreatMC
Okay, moving step by step into Felix's cast by making actual drawing of one of numerous villains brought into 50's Felix tv show by Joe Oriolo. Since Master Cylinder is basically mechanized being, it was very easy for designers to push through numerous concepts of his appearance. What you can see above is one of many such ideas that were included into actual cartoon, yet I have seen this particular one on some of the intro's as well as some of dvd covers--and that may account for most recognisable design of all that were made. As for the drawing itself, it appears that simple-looking characters are actually the hardest ones to draw properly. I still wonder if I failed or had some little succes on this one....

Master Cylinder belongs to Felix the Cat productions, which belongs to Don Oriolo.

It is good to acknowledge the fact, that number of people who still recognize this show isn't small! :D

In my opinion, Master Cylinder is the one true villian Felix ever faces. Sure, the professor claims to be evil and tries to live up to it by stealing that bag of his, but the professors more of an opportunist; He's helped Felix out with things before as long as theres something in it for HIM... Rock Bottom, while also doing villianous things, is kind of an extension of the professor: he'll only do what he's told and even if he comes up with an idea on how to do something truely dastardly (fat chance) you KNOW he won't do it unless the proffessor says so... and claims that HE came up with it.
Meanwhile, if MC ever had to team up with Felix or his pals, he'd probably avoid it at all costs(If it was completely unavoidable he'd do it... but wouldn't like it.). He's also done nasty things simply for the love of doing nasty things, so, yeah- Textbook villian; not an opportunist.

Hmm...I wouldn't be too sure about Rock Bottom being just some pair of clumsy hands driven by sole Professor's will, as seen in this pretty....way off episode: [link]

Thanks for the fave! :D
I still struggle to figure out whether there are any other mechanized-due-to-accident-in-the-past characters that are older than aforementioned Master Cylinder.

And he is fun, too! Combines the ego of Ivo Robotnik with the incompetence of his trusted servants!

Yeah, if you ever got the chance to see Felix the cat in hi 50's version(quite a lot of that is on youtube), you will notice that none of that cat's arch-nemesis have threatening appearance...;)

Have to respect Felix the Cat. :salute:

And he shall enjoy your respect.:salute:
Oh brother, Felix REALLY would welcome some more attention than what he receives now and what gives a good reason for laughing to his rip-off(hint: Mickey Mouse)....:(

Mickey Mouse lacks any inspiration whatsoever. And yeah, Felix deserves oh so much more recognition. Love him.
